Constructive Interference in Parallel Algorithms *
Parallel algorithms are developed in the setting of iterative multilevel methods. The constituent parts of the algorithms are dependent rather than independent as in conventional parallel algorithms. We develop cases and conditions wherein this dependence generates a constructive interference in the computation. The resulting parallel algorithms can then be more efficient than serial counterparts.

Least mean square-partial parallel interference cancelation (LMS-PPIC) is a partial interference cancelation using adaptive multistage structure in which the normalized least mean square (NLMS) adaptive algorithm is engaged to obtain the cancelation weights. The performance of the NLMS algorithm is mostly dependent to its step-size. A fixed and non-optimized step-size causes the propagation of ...
متن کاملNonlinear constructive interference in electrical lattices.
We analyze the constructive interference of input signals in nonlinear, discrete, two-dimensional media. The media consist of inductor-capacitor lattices with saturating, voltage-dependent capacitors. We find that nonlinearity significantly boosts the ability of such media to generate large-amplitude output signals from small-amplitude inputs. To understand this boosting, we develop a general p...

In this paper we give, for all constants k, l, explicit algorithms, that given a graph G = (V, E) with a tree-decomposition of G with treewidth at most l, decide whether the treewidth (or pathwidth) of G is at most k, and if so, find a tree-decomposition or (path-decomposition) of G of width at most k, and that use O(IVD time. In contrast with previous solutions, our algorithms do not rely on n...
متن کاملConstructive Neural Network Learning Algorithms
Constructive Algorithms offer an approach for incremental construction of potentially minimal neural network architectures for pattern classification tasks. These algorithms obviate the need for an ad-hoc apriori choice of the network topology. The constructive algorithm design involves alternately augmenting the existing network topology by adding one or more threshold logic units and training...
